The Alexana ‘Pommard Clone’ Estate Pinot Noir brings together five distinctly different vineyard blocks planted to Pommard from across the estate. Capturing the Pommard clone’s signature depth of fruit intensity and elegance. The nose offers earthy tart cranberry, Rainier cherry, and black pepper, with a subtle hint of holiday spices and forest floor. On the palate, vibrant notes of juicy plum and sour cherries are framed by ultra-fine tannins. A well- defined medium-long finish underscores the wine's focused structure and refined complexity.

'Signature' Pinot Noir
WILLAMETTE VALLEY

The 2022 Alexana ‘Signature ‘Estate Pinot Noir was shaped by a vintage altering April frost, which resulted in limited clusters, with unusually big berries, resulting in a lighter wine. On the nose, it reveals a generous, perfumed bouquet of cinnamon, baking spices, cherry kirsch, hibiscus, and a savory hint of Christmas warmth. Aged for 16 months in barrel to build depth and concentration, the palate is broad and smooth, with fine tannins that linger, offering a concentrated and persistent finish.

'Best Block: Block 3 - Clone 113'
Estate Pinot Noir

The 2022 selection of ‘Best Block’ is a selection of five barrels from a small section of Clone 113 on a steep south-facing slope of Jory soil, our ‘Block 3’. On the nose, it presents aromas of honeysuckle, wet stone, petrichor, sandalwood, and dark red fruit, creating a warm and expressive bouquet. The palate showcases mouthwatering acidity, supported by dense, velvety tannins and a well-structured core. With seamless integration of tannins and acidity, this wine is beautifully balanced, delivering a complex and vibrant representation of the 2022 growing season.

EOLA-AMITY HILLS - WILLAMETTE VALLEY

Originally planted by a NASA engineer in 1995, this small vineyard sits at the northern edge of the Eola-Amity Hills AVA on volcanic soils. On the nose, aromas of blueberry pie, rose, pencil shavings, treacle, fig, and dried black cherry create a rich and enticing bouquet. The palate is round and voluptuous, offering notes of red candy, dark fruit, and licorice, all wrapped in a silky texture. With excellent extension and depth, this wine showcases the balance between elegance and intensity, reflecting the vineyard's unique terroir.
