A Vision, A Destiny
THE VISION
In 2005, at a wine conference in Houston, Dr. Revana met legendary Winemaker Lynn Penner-Ash, who was attending on behalf of her namesake Willamette Valley winery, Penner-Ash Wine Cellars. The two began a decades-long friendship and the search for a special piece of land in Oregon was underway.
In the winter of 2005, Lynn discovered a unique 80-acre parcel on the Western slope of what would become the Dundee Hills AVA that would become Alexana Estate. Lynn’s vision and expertise set the standard and the trajectory of Alexana for the first seven vintages with stunning small-lot Pinot Noir from Alexana Estate.
BUILDING AN OREGON LEGACY
In 2010 Dr. Revana hired renowned Architect, Larry Farrar, to design and build our Gravity-Flow Winery & GOLD LEED Certified Tasting room, which was completed in 2012. Also in 2010, clone 943 Pinot Noir was grafted on to 1.02 acres of Pinot Gris vines and the Alexana Estate became one of the first vineyards in the Willamette Valley to plant this rare clone.
In 2013 Alexana’s 2010 Revana Vineyard Dundee Hills Estate Pinot Noir scored 94 points and was named #17 on Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines of 2013. This marks the second winery of Dr. Revana’s to be named to this famed list. This historic milestone marked Lynn’s last vintage as consulting winemaker. The Associate Winemaker, Bryan Weil, that she hand-picked out of hundreds of applicants back in 2011 became her successor in the next vintage.
In 2019 construction began on a 7,500 square foot addition to Alexana’s tasting room. This was Alexana’s first-ever space dedicated exclusively to customizable private tastings and events. The addition included a 2,400 sq. ft. indoor main level, a 2,800 sq. ft. outdoor covered deck, and a 2,300 sq. ft. indoor lower level for temperature-controlled wine storage.
Additionally in 2019, Dr. Revana purchased an additional 64-acres that is contiguous to Alexana’s existing 80-acres and the first nine acres of Pinot Noir are planted on this property now known as Kinney Ranch Vineyard. In the spring of 2021, an additional 27 acres were planted on the new property with Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris vines. Completing the vineyard development with 35.97 total acres planted.

The Cornerstone of Quality
In 2022, Tresider Burns became Alexana’s Head Winemaker. His extensive knowledge of the Willamette Valley making him an invaluable additional to our team. On the heels of Burns becoming the new winemaker, Drew Herman was hired as Director of Viticulture – a key role in developing our philosophy around regenerative and organic farming practices.
