2024 Alexana ‘Mosaic’ Pinot Noir
Dundee Hills AVA
Vineyards: 47% Alexana Estate Vineyard, 53% Kinney Ranch Estate Vineyard
Elevage: 10 months in 27% new, 22% second use, and 51% neutral French Oak barrels
Winemaker Notes:
At the heart of our ‘Mosaic’ lies the Alexana Estate Vineyard: a renowned site twice honored in Wine Spectator’s TOP 100. Straddling a unique confluence of volcanic and ancient marine sedimentary soils, this vineyard features 32 blocks, each a distinct expression of soil, clone, and rootstock.
Together with Kinney Ranch Estate Vineyard, these two sites offer a vibrant tapestry of flavors. Regenerative farming prac-tices and meticulous hand-harvesting ensure each block’s individual character is preserved. The grapes are fermented and aged separately, allowing their unique personalities to fully develop before being brought together into this final ‘Mosaic’ of Pinot Noir.
2023 Alexana ‘RX’ Chardonnay
Dundee Hills AVA
Vineyards: 67% Alexana Estate Vineyard, 33% Kinney Ranch Estate Vineyard
Elevage: 10 months in 25% new, 15% second use, and 60% neutral French Oak barrels
Winemaker Notes:
This release represents the first-ever vintage of RX Chardonnay and the inaugural vintage of Kinney Ranch Vineyard Chardonnay. One-third of the blend comes from three neighboring half-acre plots planted with different Chardonnay clones. Notably, it features two clones never before used in Alexana Estate Chardonnay: 548 and Draper.
Aromas of golden apple, jasmine, and flint create an inviting nose. Bright and energetic, this wine offers a refreshing palate with a smooth flow. While not as concentrated as our Signature Chardonay, it’s an easy-sipping wine that shines on its own.
