Our Story

Our Story

Alexana Winery was established in 2005 and is part of a portfolio of wine-growing estates that were founded in 1997 by Houston Cardiologist and Sole Proprietor, Dr. Madaiah Revana, who immigrated to the United States from India in 1973. His vision has been to produce world-renowned, site-specific wines from exceptional vineyards. He has accomplished exactly that with three remarkable brands, each named on Top 100 lists and located in California’s Napa Valley, Oregon’s Willamette Valley, and Argentina’s Uco Valley. Each wine conveys a distinct sense of time and place.

Vineyards

Vineyards

Alexana’s 80-acre Revana Estate Vineyard is situated in the heart of the Willamette Valley within the pristine Dundee Hills AVA. It is one of the most geologically diverse vineyard sites in North America if not the world with 55 planted acres on 18 different soil types. The vineyard is dry-farmed and sits between 320 feet and 650 feet elevation. Our farming practices are LIVE Certified sustainable and are applied to cultivate ultra-premium fruit that includes 11 different clones of Pinot noir, two different clones of Chardonnay, and one clone of Pinot Gris.

Winemaking

Winemaking

Tresider Burns' approach to winemaking allows each vintage to tell the vineyard’s story of the growing season. He utilizes our gravity flow winemaking facility and employs a delicate fermentation process that includes small lot fermentations, native yeasts, and manual punchdowns. He pays attention to every detail no matter how small to craft texture-driven wines of purity, sophistication, balance, and elegance.
